Instructions
Hello, Jawn IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Welcome to your new position at Jawn IT, a subdivision of
YAWN. You wouldn't happen to be
moonlighting, would you? Management will check, you know.
In your role at Jawn IT you will be expected to provide Internet and Managed
Service Provider (MSP) services to our business customers.
Each YAWN customer ticket will need to be resolved in order to earn your
promotion (not to mention points in the CTF).
Tickets may be resolved in any order, but many of our customers have multiple
problems which may need to be fixed before the next problem can be tackled.
Resolving a ticket will yield one (or possibly more!) flags. Flags give you
points, and should be entered for your team on the CTF Server.
Congrats on reading this far - your flag for reading the instructions is
flag3; YXRpb2 !
Rules
1. Team size is limited to 5.
2. Do not attack or attempt to access systems outside of the CTF (JawnCon
infrastructure and especially Arcadia University systems are off limits).
All systems in the physical space that are in scope for the CTF are clearly
marked. All systems in cyberspace that are part of the CTF will be located
in domains and IP subnets that will be posted on the CTF server and in the
CTF channel in Discord. If you have questions about whether something is in
scope for the CTF, please ask!
3. Do not attack other teams' computers or systems.
4. Do not spy on, harass or intentionally harm other teams.
5. Do not deliberately cause damage or interfere with the operation of CTF
systems. We want people to find flags and solve puzzles. Please do not
ruin others' enjoyment by purposely trying to bring down CTF systems.
6. Do not attempt to brute force flags. Our intention is for teams to find
flags by participating in the CTF. Attempting to brute force the answers
in CTFd is not considered a valid solution. We have countermeasures in
place to thwart this.
7. All flags must be entered on the CTF Server to qualify!
8. No additional hints will be given out during the contest.
9. Congrats! The flag for reading the rules is: flag2; JhdHVs
Tips
Thank you for playing our CTF! We hope you enjoy it! We want this to be a fun
and engaging experience for all players. Have fun! Learn things! To that end,
we have a few rules:
Here are a few helpful tips to guide you:
1. We recommend forming a team - more minds on a problem can yield more
solutions!
2. Consider this a fun learning experience. Even if you don't get to the end,
if you walk away having learned something, then your time was well spent.
3. To avoid ambiguity of answers, all flags are formatted as short alphanumeric
strings. They vary in length.
4. Everything you need to begin searching for a flag can be found within the
problem ticket in the challenge question on the CTF Server
5. Flags may be hidden anywhere. Make sure you look around and explore.
6. All of the resources you need are located within the various JawnCon websites.
